Underwater Wireless Communication

    

Abstract :
Underwater wireless communication is a flourishing research area in the field of wireless communications. This paper presents the overall framework of the necessity of underwater wireless systems, characteristics of an acoustic channel, hardware and working of acoustic modems, sensor networks and different communication architectures involved in the sensor networks.
Applications till date, like oceanographic data collection,AUVs(autonomous underwater vehicles),underwater radio etc.., future challenges like effective transmission of video and audio signals by real time monitoring have been emphasized with a view to overcome the present limitations.

Touch Screen Technology

Abstract :
Touchscreen technology is the direct manipulation type gesture based technology. Direct manipulation is the ability to manipulate digital world inside a screen without the use of command-line-commands.
A device which works on touchscreen technology is coined as Touchscreen. A touchscreen is an electronic visual display capable of ‘detecting’ and effectively ‘locating’ a touch over its display area.
It is sensitive to the touch of a human finger, hand, pointed finger nail and passive objects like stylus. Users can simply move things on the screen, scroll them, make them bigger and many more.

What is a wireless local loop?
In a telephone network, a wireless local loop (WLL) is a generic term for an access system that uses a wireless link to connect subscribers to their local exchange in place of conventional copper cable. Using a wireless link shortens the construction period and also reduces installation and operating costs.
How does WLL work?
WLL, which stands for Wireless Local Loop is of course a technology that connects subscribers to the PSTN using radio signals as a substitute for copper for all or part of the connection between the subscriber and the switch. This includes cordless access systems, proprietary fixed radio access, and fixed cellular systems. WLL phones in homes, offices or even boats connect with a wireless system in a manner similar to that of CDMA cell phones.

Regular and non-invasive assessments of cardiovascular function are important insurveillance for cardiovascular catastrophes and treatment therapies of chronic diseases.Resting heart rate, one of the simplest cardiovascular parameters, has been identified as anindependent risk factor (comparable with smoking, dyslipidemia or hypertension) for cardiovascular disease [1]. Currently, the gold standard techniques for measurement of thecardiac pulse such as the electrocardiogram (ECG) require patients to wear adhesive gel patches or chest straps that can cause skin irritation and discomfort. Commercial pulseoximetry sensors that attach to the fingertips or earlobes are also inconvenient for patientsand the spring-loaded clips can cause pain if worn over a long period of time.

Abstract :
802.11 wireless LAN security or lack of it remains at the top of most LAN administrators list of worries. The security for 802.11 is provided by the Wired Equivalency Policy (WEP) at the MAC layer for authentication and encryption The original goals of IEEE in defining WEP was to provide the equivalent security of an "unencrypted" wired network. The difference is the wired networks are somewhat protected by physical buildings they are housed in. On the wireless side, the same physical layer is open in the airwaves.
